Corporate Partners
Lend us your Voice! Advocates are always needed to help spread the word about United Way, our Partner Agencies and how we’re changing lives in Flagler and Volusia Counties. It can be as simple as a “like” and a click or as in depth as meeting with elected officials about advancing the common good.
Being an advocate is about raising your voice and improving awareness about United Way and the issues that we face in our community.
Throughout our history, United Way has done extraordinary work to improve people’s lives and build strong communities. With our focus on community impact, United Way has a key role to play in advocating for good public policy. Without community input, our priorities in Education, Income, Health and Basic Needs will lose critical government policy and funding support.
Join us and advocate for an Education, Income, Health, Basic Needs or nonprofit strengthening issue that you are passionate about. Your community needs you to have an impact on public policy decisions. Advocating in your community does not simply mean lobbying on a specific piece of legislation.
There are many ways that you can advocate. See below for ways you can make a meaningful impact in your local community.
RUN A WORKPLACE CAMPAIGN
Your company is probably already demonstrating a commitment to philanthropy. United Way is here to help take you to the next level and GIVE, ADVOCATE and VOLUNTEER in a coordinated manner that reflects a positive company culture.
WHY? It amplifies your collective impact on the community where your employees live and work.
HOW? GIVE: Workplace campaigns provide the largest percentage of our agency grant funding and the success is due to the many individual employee donations.
Along with your company United Way coordinator, our Resource Development Team will support your campaign efforts with:
- Presentations- hear about the community impact of donor dollars
- Digital and/or print materials to emphasize your commitment to helping the community
- Resources which directly assist your employees (such as 211 and VITA)
Use our pledge form for payroll deduction, one time donations and recurring gifts. Or, we are happy to set up a company digital campaign, which we manage from start to finish.
ADVOCATE: One out of three people have been touched by a United Way funded agency at some point in their life. United Way may be your neighbor, your grocer, your delivery guy, your co-worker. We need story-tellers, game-changers, hand-raisers, and problem-solvers. We need change-agents like you.
VOLUNTEER: Our volunteer portal, Get Connected, highlights over 100 local non-profits and their volunteer opportunities. Employees can volunteer on their own as often as they wish, connecting with projects that fuel their passion and areas of expertise; we’ll even keep track of their volunteer hours. Or, your company can participate in a volunteer project together for greater community impact and as a team building exercise. Our Volunteer Coordinator will set up all the project details including your unique company registration portal.
